April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4th, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and piano lessons, sparking her interest in writing songs. April's first song was Different. She wrote it at the age of 12. At 14 old, she spent the majority of her time making song concepts and perfecting the music. She began writing along with her dad and her dad in NY and LA soon after. April added other themes to the track "Take My Hand" to help her friends who dealt with issues such as peer pressurization problems, as well as teenager suicide. Lockhart collaborates with famous Clean Beauty brand Ilia and also is a lifestyle influencer with a huge following of her own. As a woman born with no left hand, she is an important part of her. But it's not the only thing she has to tell. As a result Lockhart's Instagram account does not shy away from her disabilities, yet it doesn't center around her disability either. What message is it sending? That we all contain multitudes of identities and that we are beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart in a video message from Nashville at home, claims that I don't wish for that to be a part of me. I'm more than my physical self. The issue doesn't affect my everyday activities. I carry on the same way as I always do and have developed different ways of adapting. The same is true for my personality, and it should be discussed. Lockhart is a true source of source of inspiration for anyone who wants to be self-accepting she is on a long process to attain the goal. Still, she acknowledges going through phases of insecurity with her physique and being uneasy wearing certain clothing styles which showed her arms. Nowadays, she dresses anything she likes and uploads images of her outfits to social networks with a sense of pride. One of the keys to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a place to go. This is a process, and I'm not sure you'll ever arrive. It's essential to have those around you who are aware of and can relate to you. They will be the ones to ask what you worry about?
